"Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." 1 John 4: 4
Father our God, we come into Your direct presence through the risen, living, Lord Jesus the Christ, our Savior. It is good for us to remember that you are indeed greater than our enemy who instructs much evil in our world. Yet, your word instructs us to pray for those who persecute us and to love our enemies. So help us God to do this. In our flesh we want to linger in anger, disappointments, frustrations, but your word tells us to look to you where our true help comes from. It helps to pause and ponder that you know absolutely everything, nothing surprises you, you are never anxious about what to do with all this evil: churches under attack, Christian persecution and martyrdom, governmental mandates and controls, pandemics, labor force and loss of jobs facing so many standing in the gap and more. We can trust you God that in your holiness, righteousness and faithfulness you are working as we bring these requests to you. We ask for wisdom to live in our appointed days to overcome and stand in the gap for all that concerns us, our households, families, workplaces and our churches. Jesus, in your worthy, holy Name above all, Glory to God! Amen
