Father, you inspired your followers to a love that the world knows not when You said: “Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.” (Proverbs 10:12) We see so much hatred and destruction all around us as many who are on the wrong path and not walking according to Your will. May we have Your heart of love toward those who have on spiritual blinders. It was You who taught us: “Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.” (Romans 8:5) Lord Jesus, we know it is one thing to tell another person to do something; it’s quite another to give the strength not to! God help us with those you have put on our path to see and hear you have graciously given us power over sin through Your Holy Spirit! We praise You for this gift and pray You will help us to have a mind that is controlled by Your Spirit and set on what the Spirit desires for all your children.”
