CEN Advisory Church Attacker had 15 Year Criminal Record

AWARE

Local city leaders call for a revision to California’s “Sanctuary Cities” laws which protected the suspect in the San Jose, California Grace Baptist Church stabbing attack from being deported and brought to justice. The suspect had a criminal record spanning 15 years with multiple deportation requests according to DHS ICE authorities.

Washington Times reported: “A shocking violent attack at a California church has local leaders demanding a rethink of sanctuary policies Wednesday after the suspect was revealed to be an immigrant with a lengthy criminal record and multiple deportation requests from ICE, all of which were refused.”

According to the Washington Post article: “ A man suspected in the fatal stabbings of two people and the wounding of three others at a San Francisco Bay Area homeless shelter has a history of domestic violence and had been deported at least three times, officials said Wednesday. “

CEN Founder and President, Mary Marr, joined other national faith leaders last December in providing DHS Secretary Chad Wolf with specific recommendations on: “Preventing Targeted Violence in the Faith Community.” to avert such an attack. Marr stated: “It is imperative these recommendations be implemented by federal, state and local law enforcement immediately to avoid future incidents like these from occurring.”

Marr also said: “While we all need to be on higher alert especially in Soft Target Crowded Spaces like theaters, schools, malls, and churches as part of our daily routine, Scripture also reminds us in Acts 4:29-30: ‘Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your Holy servant Jesus.’ This is a time when Christians need to be spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically resilient. Again, let’s be a ReadyChristian, one who is Aware, Ready and There sharing Christ together!”

CEN National Safety Security Officer Darryl Walker stated: “The tragedy at Grace Baptist Church sadly reminds us, once again, that Christian churches, schools, ministries, and universities must be more vigilant than ever before and immediately implement safety measures to protect the flock. Churches need well-trained safety security teams with a solid understanding of situational awareness. A well-trained safety security team will constantly monitor all aspects of the church's campus, not just on Sunday mornings, but whenever the church or ministry functions. The development of CEN’s ReadyChurch Safety Security team with an Incident Command Structure will automatically enhance situational awareness. As civil unrest is proliferating and “sanctuary cities” are protecting criminals over the law-abiding citizens, it is definitely time for the Church as a whole to begin to stand up in many areas and have their own safety protocols in place.”
