CEN Prayer Advisory

CEN Prayer Advisory

At this time, our hearts are heavy. The Taliban takeover of Afghanistan is producing untold human tragedies. Desperate scenes at the Kabul airport and the violence erupting across Afghanistan even while the Western media does not portray the international tragedy of immense proportion.

We pray for the families of the 13 U.S. soldiers who gave their lives trying to rescue thousands who are desperately fleeing the country. Additionally, we pray for the approximately 10,000 to 12,000 Afghan Christians, whose numbers have grown in the past two decades as they've worshipped in small, underground groups. For them, this is a life-and-death emergency. They are being specifically identified and openly targeted.

As Christians, including women and girls, and many others flee, hide, and face a bleak future under the Taliban, please join us in keeping them in your prayers. Scripture reminds us to pray for those who persecute us and for God:

“To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” (Acts 26: 18)

PRAY:

Father, we come to you today with Praise and Thanksgiving. We also come to you with sadness in our hearts for the tragedy and terror that is unfolding in Afghanistan. We ask, dear Father, for you to wrap your loving arms around all the family and friends of the civilians, and US and Allied military personnel who lost their lives. We also ask that you, the Great Healer, touch those who were wounded and provide them comfort as they are healed. We ask for you to guide our leaders and give them wisdom as they navigate these perilous times. We ask that you protect our leaders, military, and civilians from any physical dangers, as well as, the spiritual demons they must face in this battle. Above all Father, will you help us to maintain a peaceful, joyful, trusting relationship with you so that Your Light and Hope shines in full measure to those around us?

CARE:

Ask God to bring a U.S. military soldier and their families to mind and heart then take a moment to personally thank them for their service. Be ready to lovingly assist others when they ask: “Where is God in this?” If you have not already joined with other Christians to ensure your own readiness for the days ahead, please sign up for CEN’s FREE ReadyChristian training TODAY!

Lovingly show those whom God places in your path that, by being prepared to respond, we are better able to help others and meet any immediate perceived spiritual, emotional, mental as well as physical needs. Share the GOOD NEWS of eternal life in Jesus Christ with all those who are confused, heavy hearted and grieving from these horrific events this week.

AWARE - READY - THERE?

With mounting International and Domestic Christian persecution we do not need to fear because God gave us a blueprint to be READY to respond in the midst of the chaos. He outlined the path for Christians to be together, to self-organize and self-mobilize to first protect ourselves and then to honor His call to be THERE sharing Christ. CEN Ready training shows Christians how to be AWARE, READY, and THERE in any crisis with the Hope of Christ.
