Four U.S. Governors of North Carolina, Florida, Virginia and Georgia call for a “State of Emergency” in light of the Colonial gas pipeline due to the “DarkSide” hacking affecting those all along the east coast this week. South Carolina said it would not call for another State of Emergency due to COVID responses already in place. How should Christians respond?
Apart from the emergency shortage situation along the eastern seaboard states, it is estimated that gas shortages may affect the U.S. for the next several months. An active and simple preparation plan may mean the difference between getting to the hospital timely or being stuck at home. Here are some simple steps you can take right now to prepare and assist others as Jesus would in this crisis.

CEN’s ReadyFL Public Information Officer David Craig reports: “Governor DeSantis declared a State of Emergency Tuesday which will reduce the transportation regulations to allow for a surge in truck deliveries; activate the FLNG as support logistics; put into place price gouging prevention rules, and basically reassure citizens who are in a State of Emergency. For Florida this is not unlike our many hurricane responses. While there has been a slight increase in traffic from panic buying and some Central Florida gas stations actually implemented price reductions. As of today, only a few gas stations have run out of gas. Christians will you pray for peace at the pump and reduction of panic buying? It is a time to keep a fuel tank filled but not hoard gas!”
Scripture reminds us, “Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest.” (Proverbs 6:6-8)

Father, would you help us to be good stewards of the resources you have given us even in this gasoline crisis? Help us to prepare in advance not only for our own families but also to assist others. Above all Father, will you help us to maintain a peaceful, joyful, trusting relationship with you so that Your Light and Hope shines in full measure to those around us?

Set aside some gasoline and rotate often to be able to assist others when they ask: “Where is God in this?”

Lovingly show those whom God places in your path to assist how by your being prepared to respond it not only helps to meet their immediate perceived physical need but their eternal need of YOU!

PRI-G is a great fuel preservative. Stabil is my 2# choice. Stabil preserved gas in my generator of 8 yrs all I did was add some each year, slosh the tank and run the generator, then shut off the fuel and let the generator run until the carb is dry. Any fuel stored long term should be premium without ethanol.
