7600 Christians Killed in 18 Months!

Be AWARE!

As 7600 Nigerian Christians are Killed in 18 Months, Youth for Christ DOUBLES Jesus followers in one year!

• Focus on the Family HQ becomes part of the 80% Rise in Christian Vandalism in 2022.

• Churches in Indonesia organize after the earthquake with the Hope of Christ.

• Every ReadyChurch knows their resource capacity to organize BEFORE a crisis occurs in order to respond effectively to any crisis large or small.

“Remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose.’”

Isaiah 46:9-10

My God–how uplifted we are as we treasure that ALL You purpose shall be accomplished!  Glory to You from old to now that indeed-there is none but You alone as God/Jehovah existing, living in full infiniteness–no limitations from before, now or ever to be. We remember Your exploits recorded in Your Word from ancient days, declaring even now that Your counsel stands.  Glory to You, AMEN.

Risks on #GivingTuesday

Gift card scams are just one type of phishing scam, in the broad umbrella of Business Email Compromise (BEC), that threat actors continue to use in their bag of tricks. And with the holiday season upon us and the spirit of giving running through people, there will undoubtedly be more of these types of threats. Recently a member of the Woodlawn United Church received a plea for gift card donations from the pastor at the church. The text asked for a favor, but unfortunately, they could not talk because they were in a meeting. The text went on and noted that there were individuals in the hospital that the pastor wanted to provide gift cards for. The scammers often use tactics such as creating a sense of urgency. Often, the scammers will tell you which gift card to buy and then ask you for the gift card number and PIN.

In the heat of the moment, it’s hard to take a step back especially when threat actors are applying pressure, but it is always important to try to take a step back and think about what is being asked. In this instance, would a faith-based leader ask for money in the form of a gift card? Would they reach out over text or ask for personal banking information in such a forum? The answer is usually no. Below are some tips you can use to avoid being scammed.

• Donate to charities you know and trust with a proven track record in dealing with disasters.
• Contribute by check or credit card. Never give or send cash.
• Don’t give out personal financial information — such as Social Security numbers or credit card and bank account numbers and passwords — to anyone who solicits a contribution.

If you have been the target of a scam, please contact us CEN partner: FB-ISAO would like to assess and analyze the potential threats and types of scams that are targeting members of the faith-based community. Write to info@faithbased-isao.org.

“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him.”

James 1:12 ESV

Holy Glorious, Worthy Lord and Savior, we treasure this promise in our souls in midst of disappointments, illness, losses, trials of all kinds in all sorts of places.  We grieve to see the righteous persecuted and harassed, ridiculed in the public arena and in some parts of the world losing their lives for Your sake.  LORD we know you also grieve that there are such battles over the best Gift possible, Jesus, our source of eternal life. Yet here we claim and treasure your promise that in Your divine timing, the crown of life awaits those who stand in the test in Your ways and love You!  Selah—we pause and ponder in our Messiah, Jesus the Christ. AMEN

When Causes Fail, Share the Gospel!

Be AWARE!

As we see Christian ‘causes’ like pro-life and biblical marriage seeming to lose ground in the U.S. many Christians are turning back to Scripture in sharing the Gospel as the only way to win within increasing threats to religious liberty.

• Anglican officials in England warn the Church is dying.

• Texas pastor is charged with sexual abuse as a church volunteer who passed many background checks murders daughter.

• More than 500 Christian hate crimes in 2021 as Nigeria passes Christian “genocide” while the world remains silent.

“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.” Genesis 50:20

Lord our faithful God, we treasure this word in our minds and hearts, that today as in Joseph’s time, You can turn what men intended to harm into good for us and for multitudes.  You alone are sovereign, seeing and knowing all times, working in the midst of Your creation, in all our human frailties and limitations. Here we trust You as Joseph learned to when all seemed so hopeless, that You can work miracles and deliver from peril.  Messiah our beloved Savior we live in Your Name AMEN.
